The production and sale of commercial vehicles in June were at 527,000 and 536,000, respectively, which indicated growth through the influence of trucks, with sales volume setting a new historical record, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).

The output decreased by 0.1% month-on-month and the sales volume increased by 3.1%, CAAM reported. The year-on-year growth was 77.9% and 63.1%, respectively. Among them, sales volume reached a new record high after April. 

From the perspective of subdivided vehicle models, passenger cars dropped slightly, and trucks showed a substantial growth driven by four types of vehicles. Among them, sales of light trucks hit a record high, and sales of heavy trucks hit a record high in June.

From January to June, the production and sales of commercial vehicles completed 2.359 million units and 2.384 million units, up 9.5% and 8.6% year-on-year, respectively, the association found. In terms of production and sales by model, the production and sales of passenger cars decreased by 9.6% and 12.4% year-on-year; the production and sales of trucks increased by 11.5% and 10.8%,  respectively.
