The Hastings on Hudson, N.Y., Police Department took delivery of the first Tesla Model Y that has been outfitted with lights, sirens, and radio for police use on Dec. 21, according to a Facebook post.

It has been assigned to the detective division, and CarBuzz reports the department also says the vehicle has been equipped with a state-of-the-art Whelen CenCom Core Lighting system that features advanced automation and remote connectivity.

The Model Y being used is a long range model with silver metallic paint, and the department is estimating a saving of $8,525 in gas over five years.
