Sarah Simpson is the new chief executive officer of Porsche Cars GB and the Porsche Retail Group, effective September. 1, 2021.

Simpson joins from within the Volkswagen Group where she has worked for over 20 years, most recently as Regional Director for Bentley, responsible for the UK, Middle East, India and Africa.

Prior to joining Bentley in 2012 as Operations Director, Simpson was Brand Manager for Volkswagen in the UK.

“I am very much looking forward to getting started,” said Sarah Simpson. “The team at Porsche – both in the Reading HQ and in our Porsche Centres across the country – have an excellent reputation. It is a truly exciting time to join the brand as it progresses further on the path to electrification, while continuing to offer emotive petrol-powered products such as the 911 GT3.”

Simpson will replace Marcus Eckermann who will take on an undisclosed role with Porsche AG. Eckermann has served as Porsche Cars GB CEO since 2018.

Porsche Cars GB is the Stuttgart sports car manufacturer’s fourth-largest market globally. The electric Taycan is the firm’s best-selling car in 2021, thanks to the tax breaks available to businesses and fleets buying or leasing electric vehicles.
