The new, redesigned Mercedes-Benz Citan and its all--electric model variant – the eCitan – will premiere to the world August 25, 2 p.m. (CEST), on the Mercedes media online platform.
Compact external dimensions with a high load volume open up a diverse range of applications for the new small van, especially in inner-city distribution operations, according to Mercedes-Benz. Wide-opening sliding doors on the vehicle’s left and right sides and a low loading sill enable comfortable access to the interior and easy loading.
The Citan panel van offers two body lengths – long and extra-long – accommodating various load compartment requirements. The cab holds up to three people with an optional two-seat front passenger bench. The commercial use Citan Tourer seats up to five people, including driver. The flexible folding, front row, three-seat bench expands load compartment space.
During the August 25 presentation, Marcus Breitschwerdt, head of Mercedes Benz Vans; Natalie Sonntag, product marketing small vans; and Dirk Hipp, chief engineer small vans, will describe the new Citan’s important strengths.
The new Citan can be ordered beginning in mid-September. The new model series will replace its predecessor, launched in 2012.
