Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. has announced the retirement of Christian Vandenhende, executive officer, chief quality officer and vice-chief performance officer, effective August 1, 2021.

Vandenhende responsibilities included Global After Sales, Quality and Total Customer Satisfaction functions and chief vehicle assessment specialist, and oversight of INFINITI business, the Americas and Africa, Middle East, India, Europe, and Oceania regions. He served on the Executive Committee at Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi.

He joined Nissan in 2018, following a 19-year career at Renault. A native of Belgium, Vandenhende holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of Louvain-la-Neuve.

“I would like to thank Christian for his service and outstanding contributions to Nissan and the Alliance. He has played a significant role in driving Nissan NEXT transformation plan and positioning us for long-term success. I wish him all the best in retirement,” said Makoto Uchida, Nissan CEO, in Yokohama, Japan.
