Steve Winter, 15-year veteran at Centrica, parent company of British Gas, has left his position as head of fleet for British Gas to work as consultant to fleet managers and companies.

Responsible for the third-largest private fleet in the U.K., with more than 12,000 vehicles on the road, including engineer vans, company cars and a “grey fleet” of employee-owned vehicles, Winter was acknowledged for his leadership in transitioning to EVs. Under his direction, British Gas has been working toward its 2025 commitment of an all-EV fleet.

“We’re on a mission to make our 12,000 strong British Gas fleet electric by 2025, and a big part of this is helping our engineers across the U.K. make the switch,” Winter said last year. He’s also lobbied for building a stronger EV infrastructure throughout the country.

Winter resides in Owslebury, England. British Gas provides energy services to more than 10 million U.K. homes and 500,000 businesses.
