Alex Cook is the new finance director at Nexus Vehicle Rental.

The rental management and provision company, based in Leeds, UK, says Cook will help support the business through the next stage of its growth. Previously head of commercial finance, Cook replaces long-standing executive Ian Cherry, who now takes up the role of finance board advisor

Cook is a qualified chartered accountant, beginning his career with accounting firm EY before moving to work within the commercial finance team at Asda, where he worked for eight years before joining Nexus in 2019.

Executive chairman, David Brennan, commenting on Cook’s appointment, said: “Following another year of strong growth for Nexus in a challenging marketplace I am thrilled to see Alex promoted into the role of finance director. His experience and expertise bolsters our strong management team, reflecting the continuous evolution of our business and the desire to promote our talent wherever we can.

“Nexus has always been at the forefront of innovation, transforming business mobility in the same way Uber transformed taxi services. We are committed to continuous development of our services and products to provide better customer solutions. Our recent financials are testament to the hard work everyone in the organisation puts in to make sure we can keep businesses moving, no matter what.”
