Car subsciption company Autonomy has ordered more than 2,500 VF 8 and VF 9 electric vehicles (EVs) from Vietnamese automaker VinFast, an increase of Autonomy’s original order of 400.
Based in Santa Monica, California, Autonomy is one of the largest EV subscription companies in the U.S. and is said to be building a fleet of 23,000 battery-powered vehicles. The company has also ordered EVs from 17 other global auto manufacturers, including Tesla, General Motors, Volkswagen, Ford, Hyundai, Kia and Rivian.
The Autonomy deal is VinFast's largest corporate order to date, marking the company’s reception into international market for the Vietnamese automaker.
According to the agreement, VinFast will begin delivering vehicles to Autonomy over the next 12 months, as it starts exporting vehicles to international markets.
“Bringing the VF 8 and VF 9 to Autonomy’s EV subscription fleet will give consumers yet another way to experience our brand and discover the benefits of our premium smart EVs,” commented Le Thi Thu Thuy, VinFast chairwoman. VinFast is a member of Vingroup, a leading private conglomerate in the southeast Asian region.
