Daimler Vans USA is recalling approximately 1,517 2019 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter (Platform 907) full-size vans equipped with high-beam assist because a software error in the control unit may prevent the driver from being able to switch off the high beams when intended.

This scenario could cause blinding to oncoming traffic due to the vehicle's strong lights, which increases the likelihood of a crash.

To remedy the problem, Daimler will notify owners, and Mercedes-Benz or Freightliner Sprinter dealers will update the control unit software at no cost to owners.

The recall begins June 7. Owners can reach Daimler's customer service at (877) 762-8267. The reference number for this recall is VS3FERNLI.
