Massport has filed a lawsuit against peer-to-peer carsharing group Turo, alleging the company has being operating illegally at Logan International Airport, the Boston Herald Reports.
In the lawsuit, Massport claims that despite sending the California-based company two cease-and-desist letters, Turo has refused to stop its airport operations.
In a statement to the Herald, Massport spokeswoman Jennifer Mehigan said that Turo's airport operation “continues to violate Massport’s regulations by operating without a rental car concession agreement.” All car rental companies with airport operations must have a formal agreement with the airport authority, in addition to paying taxes and fees.
