The Walla Walla Police Department in Washington has begun a drone program with the addition of three unmanned aerial systems. The drones are from DJI and cost $8,500, East Oregonian reported.

Officers said they wished the drones had been available earlier, such as during a barricaded person incident that required SWAT assistance and during a missing person search, when thermal imaging would have been helpful.
