Hyundai Recalls Sonata for Incorrect Tire Information

Hyundai Motor America is recalling an estimated 5,044 2020 Sonata vehicles produced between Oct. 22, 2019 and Feb. 13, 2020 because the tire pressure label inside the driver's door and the owner's manual state an incorrect tire size.

This scenario can mislead the owner, prompting him or her to install the wrong size tires, which can potentially affect vehicle handling, increasing the likelihood of a collision.

To fix the problem, Hyundai will notify owners, and dealers will install new label stickers over the tire pressure label and in the owner's manual, at no cost to owners.

Owners can reach Hyundai customer service at (855) 371-9460.

The recall begins April 24. Hyundai's reference number for this recall is 190.
